    Description

PLEASE READ & UNDERSTAND ENTIRE DESCRIPTION PRIOR TO PURCHASE.
New short shaft water pump conversion kit for all 1955- 1962 Chevrolet 235 & 261 motors.
This kit allows you to install a later high oil pressure 235  motor in your earlier '37-'54 Chevy car or truck, without having to move the radiator forward to adjust for clearance problems between the fan blade & radiator.
Makes for a nice clean installation.
No need to hack up original long shaft pumps & then try to mix & match improper pulleys.
A must have part if you are replacing your early 216 motor with a later 235 or 261 motor.
This is a BRAND NEW pump...... This is NOT a rebuilt or refurbished pump.
This is a modified pump & pulley...Will not fit applications that require a stock pump & stock pulley.
Kit is complete with the NEW high performance pump, gasket & correct 3/8" black powder coated pulley.
Pump features an improved impeller design for better cooling & longer life.
    You get everything pictured.
Will only fit the 1955-1962 Chevrolet 235 & 261 motors.
** This kit will NOT fit the 1937-1954 Chevy 216 motors & it will NOT fit any pre 1955 Chevy motor **.
Will only fit the 1937 1954 Chevy cars & trucks IF a later 1955-1962  235 or 261 motor is installed in it.
Requires the use of the STOCK 1955-1962 Chevy 235/261 fan blade & the STOCK 1955-1962 235/261 harmonic balancer.
You cannot mix & match incompatible fan blades or incompatible harmonic balancers.
Every installation is different, but most installations are " bolt in " with no adjustments needed....
That being said..... you still may need some basic mechanical problem solving skills to properly install this kit if there are any minor clearance issues.
***Be advised that about 10% of the time a shallow spacer may be required between the fan blade & pulley to allow for clearance between the harmonic balancer & the fan blade..... or a shallow spacer may be needed between the back of the pulley & the pump flange to align the pulley groove with your harmonic balancer ****
***If you are unable, unwilling or not prepared for the possibility of having to make a few minor adjustments to get everything to line up, we DO NOT recommend this pump for you***
We included a picture of this pump installed with a spacer for reference only....Spacer is not included.
Please make sure this pump is correct for your application BEFORE purchasing.
We also offer this kit with a Chrome pulley on a different listing. Check out our other listings if you want a Chrome pulley.
